Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026

This policy explains how Uppena — A Wave of Telugu Flavours ("Uppena", "we", "us") handles information in connection with the website at uppena.in (the "Site"). We have tried to keep it plain and short, because our Site collects very little.

1. The short version

The Site is a static brochure website. We do not run accounts, we do not process payments online, and we do not ask you to fill in forms. We do not sell or rent anyone's personal information.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us directly

If you choose to contact us — by calling us, messaging us on WhatsApp, or emailing us — we receive whatever you send: typically your name, phone number or email address, and the details of your enquiry, reservation or catering request. We use this only to respond to you and to serve you at the restaurant.

Information collected automatically

Like almost every website, our web host records standard server logs when a page is requested. These may include your IP address, browser type, the pages requested and the time of the request. Our host keeps these for security, troubleshooting and traffic measurement.

3. Cookies

The Site does not set its own advertising, analytics or tracking cookies. Third-party services embedded in the Site (see below) may set their own cookies under their own policies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time; the Site will continue to work.

4. Third-party services on this Site

  • Google Maps — the map on our Visit page is embedded from Google. Loading it means your browser contacts Google's servers, and Google may set cookies and receive your IP address. This is governed by Google's own privacy policy.
  • Google Fonts — typefaces are loaded from Google's font service, which likewise receives a request from your browser.
  • WhatsApp — our WhatsApp buttons open a chat with us in WhatsApp. Anything you send there is handled under WhatsApp's own terms and privacy policy.
  • Online ordering and delivery platforms — where we link out to an ordering or booking service, that is a separate business. Once you leave our Site, their privacy policy applies to whatever you do there, including any payment you make.
  • Google Business Profile — our opening hours, ratings and reviews live on Google. Anything you post there is public and governed by Google.

We do not control these third parties and are not responsible for their practices. We encourage you to read their policies.

5. How we use information

  • To respond to reservations, catering enquiries and general questions
  • To provide and improve our food and service
  • To keep the Site secure and working properly
  • To comply with applicable law, including tax and food-safety requirements

6. Sharing

We share information only where it is necessary: with service providers who host our website or help us operate the restaurant, and where we are required to do so by law or by a valid request from a government authority. We do not sell personal information.

7. Retention

We keep enquiry and reservation details only as long as needed for the purpose they were given, and for any period required by law. Server logs are retained by our host for a limited period under their standard practice.

8. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the information we hold. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your rights

Subject to applicable law — including India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 — you may ask us to confirm what personal information about you we hold, to correct it if it is inaccurate, or to erase it where we are not required to keep it. You may also withdraw consent you have given us. To make a request, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity before acting.

10. Children

The Site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us and we will delete it.

11. Links to other sites

The Site contains links to websites we do not operate. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those sites.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The revised version will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date. Please check back occasionally.
